Oldboy
*Laugh, and the world will laugh with you.
Cry, and the world will turn its back on you.*
Oldboy is one of the most disturbing and unforgettable films I’ve ever watched. It starts as a brutal revenge story, but slowly turns into something much more psychological, forcing you to question how far revenge can go and what happens when someone builds their entire life around hatred.
What makes it so powerful is the atmosphere, the raw performances, and the way every revelation completely changes your understanding of the story. The hallway fight is iconic, but the film’s real strength is how emotionally devastating it becomes beneath all the violence.
The final twist genuinely destroyed me. It isn’t just shocking it makes you rethink everything you’ve watched and leaves you with an incredibly uncomfortable feeling that stays long after the credits
A grain of sand or a stone—it makes no difference. Both sink in water.
