Psycho
every time i step foot outside im gonna say “ITS HOT AS FRESH MILK”
the real horror was when that old fart said he bought a house for 40,000 dollars cash. i actually wanted to fall off a very tall tall building but we don’t really got one of those in phoenix. that opening scene hasn’t really changed much LOLL
anyways. Psycho and I have been on a long journey. In 2022, my professor showed me a few clips of Hitchcock films, Psycho being one of them. he had written a paper on intimacy/ extimacy in architectural framework at the time and was excited to share some insights about the film that he used. The clips were all so fragmented; the aerial opening scene of Phoenix in the 50’s, the zooming in and out of the window and the drain and the eye, the toilet, the shot of the motel and the house. didn’t interest me at the time. fast forward to 2024, my professor makes a return into my academic life at a guest lecture and talks about his paper once again. This time, he shows us hitchcock’s 6 minute theatrical trailer ( entertaining af, if you haven’t seen Psycho yet, plleaseeee go watch the trailer first and then watch it again after you finish the movie, okay???? okay. ) but still, i was intrigued a little bit more but not enough to actually watch the movie. what finally did it was netflix planning on taking the movie out in 3 days . so yeah, took me 3 years to finally watch Psycho. Glad I finally did. Psycho is one of those films that you immediately and undoubtedly understand it’s reputation as a cult classic.
