Fail Safe
A truly amazing film. The plot pacing was so excellent. So you really felt the intensity of the film. The atmosphere of darkness and silence added so much to emotion the film was trying to drive. The character’s development in this film was excellent. The professor’s approach of war as a game with winner and losers and America need to attack and win over communism contrasted with General Blacks approach of ending war. All those questions really made me think. All these different ideologies were clashing but the film excellently executed with showing how our military advancement has made the world so much more danger. The film showed that world leaders have made to much of a game. A truly heart searching and deep film. The only issue I had with this film was the ideals of moral relativism. Especially in the order of bombing New York City. It felt like a wrong and traitorous decision and I don’t think you can argue it was a justified sacrifice since it is betrayal against your own country. But I won’t let that get in the way as I really enjoyed the rest of the film.
