Frances Ha
Well damn it’s so rare to find a movie that you resonate with this much and I really didn’t expect Frances Ha to be that movie for. I’m not usually the biggest fan of Greta Gerwig but this might have single handedly changed my perception of her.
I’ve always been an advocate of annoying asshole characters but usually only in books it’s rare it translates as well into a movie but this movie just did it so well it feels like you’re living Frances’s life right beside her and every bad decision she makes and every annoying or awkward thing she says just makes sense because when you think about it you would do the exact same thing. Every single character is annoying and self absorbed but they’re not all necessarily bad people they do love Frances but they’re just aren’t always there for her but she isn’t there for them either and that’s how it should be and it’s how real life works. You are the most important person in your life even if you have your perfect person.
