Magnolia

Definitely my favourite PTA film probably one of my favourite films oat. Loved the different stories coming together and the songs in this film were just brilliant. The start of this was absolutely amazing and didn’t stop for the whole 3 hour run time. William H Macy always plays some depressing character but he’s always great in the role, Tom Cruise was excellent and an underrated year he had in 1999 with Magnolia and Eyes Wide Shut, PHS was superb but compared to his other performances this one was only good, Julianne Moore and John C Reilly were both excellent with their characters being  similar to the ones in Boogie Nights ( mainly Juilliane Moore).   I don’t know what the frog scene could have impacted to the story but it makes the film a bit more absurd. The stunning camerawork with the outstanding tracking shots just show how impressive PTA really is. Absolutely loved the first couple of scenes and sets the tone to the film. An emotional ride that is executed perfectly. The last scene with William H Macy was depressing. My favourite scene was the singing scene, iconic.
