5 Centimeters per Second
Man the first time I watched this was in the 6th grade. Now I’m 24. In the movie it starts when they’re around 6th grade and ends around their mid 20s. Watching it right now I realized I’ve grown to that same age but i remember way back it felt like that was an impossible amount of time away.
This was my first Makoto shinkai film and I’ve been a fan ever since. I love the art, story, and music here. A super slow burn of a movie but tbh I feel like this movie is what made me love slower movies. I definitely have a nostalgia bias but man I love this film and it has been definitely influential to my life. I love romance and man this one just hurts to see.
Anyways imma go run right now and listen to the soundtrack like I used to in high school. See ya.
