Rewind & Play
NH_14 | Strong feelings, existential sadness. If you come to view it as a metaphor — when you metaphorize the real events — it can be seen as a Kafkaesque, existential oppression from the outside, and the protagonist, pure sensibility, can be seen as trying to catch along this exterior world — with big feeling of being lost, sadness, yet possible chance of expression — catching along by doing his best, playing the piano. „At least there is something you can play on”.
On the other hand it's just traumatic, both for the viewer and the musician himself, footage from the backstage of making a TV programme. Edited in a way of trying to suggest what could be felt by Monk at that time and for that too — one of the films that matter more by attempting to unfold truth. Greatly touching piece, empathetic, deeply moving. TM's music... lack of words.
