Hamnet
this movie managed to capture the essence of grief in its atmosphere. i’ve always felt like grief itself is a language i never fully learned to speak, and this movie showed that there’s an opportunity to sit with the discomfort without feeling forced. i also admired the different ways agnes and william mourned, because even within the same marriage and the same loss, emotional synchronicity is never guaranteed. my greatest mistake was watching this movie while doing my makeup because, spoiler alert, i cried most of it off.
