Holy shit, they literally brought the comics to life. 99% of this film had me either fan girling or sitting there with my jaw on the floor. The whole thing was absolutely beautiful. Spider-Man felt so animated, especially during the fight scenes. Every movement had so much energy and personality. I’m genuinely speechless while typing this. The night before seeing it, my friend and I were talking about how everyone has their own favourite Spider-Man film or actor, but there’s always that one movie that means something on a personal level. This is that film for me. I’ve genuinely never felt so many different emotions watching a Spider-Man movie. I actually felt so fucking sad at points, and then minutes later I was smiling like an idiot. My cinema experience made it even better. Everyone understood the references, everyone clapped at the end, and no joke, almost everyone in the screening was wearing something red or Spider-Man related. I saw a Singh wearing a red turban, people with red scarves, red hijabs, Spider-Man hoodies, jerseys, it genuinely felt like everyone had shown up to celebrate Spider-Man together. It was honestly beautiful. Right now, this is my favourite Tom Holland Spider-Man film, and it’s honestly one of if not my favourite Spider-Man movie ever. I connected with it on such a personal level, and I don’t think I’ll ever forget the experience of seeing it for the first time.

I do love this film. I don’t think it’s the best Spider-Man film, but I always enjoy it whenever I rewatch it. It definitely has pacing issues during the first act, which makes it harder to revisit every time, but it’s so worth it once you get to the middle act, where Peter is trying to cure the villains. I also love how they handled Aunt May as this universe’s Uncle Ben. The MCU actually gave us time to get attached to her instead of making her a character who dies 30 minutes into a Spider-Man origin film. I think Tom Holland gives one of his best performances during Aunt May’s death. Seeing Tobey and Andrew on screen together will never get old. I absolutely love them, and I really hope that, aside from the Peter 2 mention, Spider-Man: Brand New Day includes more references to both of them.

i’m honestly speechless. what the actual fuck. Tom Holland’s and Robert Pattinson’s performances were amazing. like i genuinely have never felt this way for characters. the film itself is beautiful too. the cinematography, the score… everything. i don’t think i have ever felt so sucked into a film. the pacing was amazing, there wasn’t a single second where i felt bored. embarrassingly, i did jump a lot because of HOW LOUD SOME OF THE SCENES WERE. i thought the popular actors would be a distraction but no… not at all. i loved how the film pieces the story together by mentioning or showing a short clip of something, then later explaining everything. the film does expect you to know the basics of Greek mythology, but if you know even a little bit, you’re good. there’s this part of the film where they’re in Hades (where the dead are), and Elliot Page gives such a good performance. omg he’s so fucking good. it honestly reminded me of Death Stranding and if yk me at all… i fucking love that game. i’m 100% rewatching this in IMAX asap and getting the 4K Blu-ray the second it gets a home release.

Renate Reinsve was so beautiful. That’s the biggest and only highlight. The film was unsettling, but all the jump scares went straight past me, and I hated how rushed Clark’s mental health worsening was. It felt like he found the Backrooms, took his workers in, they died, then he just went insane. I also felt like Mary’s story wasn’t explained or explored as in depth as it should’ve been. The soundtrack was peak.
