Be careful what you wish for. Once this movie gets going it GOES. Unsettling, darkly comedic, and heartbreaking. The tension carries throughout the entire film in all the right ways and doesn’t resort to cheap, corny tactics that a lot of modern horror movies rely on. Yeah, some moments were predictable, but the execution of these moments while staying true to the tone is where Curry Barker excels and keeps the viewer on the edge of their seat. All in all, the moral dilemmas encountered, cinematography, editing, writing…chef’s kiss. As a fan of horror, this is amazing for the genre, and I can’t wait to see what Barker does next considering he did this with such a small budget. Inde Navarrette, welcome to the big leagues.
