*Grace Rocky save stars* I'm yet again mesmerized by how much I love this film. Unfortunately, I don't ever see it pushing that 5 star barrier. First, the positives. The film absolutely mastered the art of storytelling. I've watched 80 minute films that felt twice as long as this. I was immediately hooked. Secondly, it looks spectacular. Some of those Tau Ceti backdrops are quite literally out of this world. And finally, Ryan Gosling, who fits the role like a glove, mainly due to his uncontrollable charm. I adored the bromance between Grace and Rocky. It's the foundation behind my love for this film. At the same time, I kinda wish it weren't. I honestly think I'd much rather it were much more focused on the stakes, instead of the bond. But then again, it simply wouldn't be *Project Hail Mary* at that point. I also can't quite make up my mind on Sandra Huller and her character. I don't if it's either, both or just a figure of my imagination, but every time she was on screen, my enjoyment levels absolutely plummeted. Fortunately, none of those keeps me from loving this and it definitely won't keep me from endlessly rewatching for a good amount time.

I've never watched a single minute of SNL and I'm quite confident that hindered my overall experience, as some of it went over my head while the rest simply didn't spark an interest.

They were better off just remaking the first one a third time.

What if *Hitman* lacked the Linklater sauce? I still had a great time though.
