Small Axe
“If you are the big tree, we are the small axe”
Urgent, timely, loud, subtle, hopeful, sumptuous, this is a singular experience, made coherent by Steve McQueen’s unwavering vision, brought to life by powerful performances, made for you with love and joy and anger and empathy. A powerful indictment of institutional racism, a ode to Black joy, a seering effort to scratch the surface of some complex human lives.
