The Help

fucking hell the ending made me cry like i had a crazy breakdown bro, this movie captures a mother’s love, motherhood, friendship, love, women, and most importantly the struggles of black ppl and their families. although its not the best black representation and i think there r better ones than this but for me i think this movie portrays helping and give those a voice, and i think thats just how it was back then when there r white ppl who wanted to give a voice and help bc they want equality as much as black ppl did, and i also think that this movie wanted to showcase the other side of white ppl like skeeter and celia, celia does not see minny for her skin color but as a normal person, she does not have the kind of hatred or disgust like the other white ppl do, and the same goes to skeeter, and thats just how its supposed to be, we bleed the same no matter what the color of our skin is. its just all abt helping each other, bc of minny, celia got better and bc of celia, minny has a lifetime job, and she can quit if she wants to and will not be treated horribly bc of that and bc of skeeter’s help and minny and aibileen and many more w their cooperation and voices, they managed to publish a book that will educate and open perspectives abt the horrible treatment that black ppl received, and that is just one step forward for more ppl to join in for equality.
