this gives me an excuse to state my opinions… and also watch movies. 🎬🍿✨🪩

**"Don't look for gods in men, you'll always be disappointed."** **"It told you what you most want is what you most can't have. And what you most can’t have is what you already had, and lost." ** as someone who’s already obsessed with *Epic: The Musical* and greek mythology, i already knew i was going to love this, but i didn’t expect to be this immersed. everything felt so real that i genuinely felt like i was right there with odysseus, telemachus, penelope, and everyone else. you could feel every victory, every setback, and every emotion, which made the whole experience so much more impactful. it got a little graphic at times, but honestly in the best way because it made the world feel even more authentic instead of holding back. every actor completely embodied their character, and i forgot i was watching people perform because i was so invested. i just wish zendaya had a little more screen time. they left out some key moments from the original story, which i was a little disappointed about since i loved reading *The Odyssey*, but starting the story like a little post-Iliad honestly made up for a lot of it and was such a cool choice. the only thing that took me out of it wasn’t even the movie, it was how loud the movie was in the theater 😭. if you love greek mythology, this is absolutely worth seeing. { 🪓🪷🏹🏰 }

***“I just think there's no better smell in the world than the smell of old books.” *** ***"Living deliberately wasn’t planning everything, but being definite about every small moment". *** ***"You should never regret the things you do. You should only regret the things that you don't do".*** i don’t think i’ll ever hear kaleidoscope by chapel roan the same way again. this movie made me want to pack my bags and study abroad in england immediately. everything about oxford looked so beautiful, and i loved how the city almost felt like its own character. jamie and anna were so easy to root for, tim and maggie were adorable, charlie had me laughing every time he was on screen, and jamie’s mom was effortlessly hilarious. i also really appreciated how the movie took the time to explore the different family relationships. no one felt one dimensional, and even the characters i didn’t always agree with were understandable once you saw where they were coming from. what starts out feeling like a charming romance slowly becomes something so much more emotional, and i was completely invested. by the end i was crying so hard i could barely see the screen. the way everything came full circle was beautiful, bittersweet, and somehow still hopeful. i’m actually devastated… and i mean that as the highest compliment. 5 stars. { 📚🏴⏳♥️ }

{ 🌈🎩🕰️🩷🍬 } this movie somehow managed to make me even more obsessed with descendants 😭. i genuinely loved everything about it. the soundtrack??? absolutely adored and am **OBSESSED** with.. “Who I Am” is easily my favorite because it reminds me so much of “My Once Upon a Time” from D3. after that it’s probably “Heartless” and “For Once in My Life.” and can we talk about Rita and Brandy’s duet?? it was so beautifully fitting. i also loved “True to Your Heart” and “Go Live It.” honestly there wasn’t a single song i wanted to skip. Red and Luis are literally so cute together. i also loved how Luis actually sees Red for who she is instead of just who everyone expects her to be. one thing i really liked was how this movie explored characters feeling like they don’t belong. i really resonated with Chloe because of how she constantly feels unheard and left out, and i also saw myself in Pink’s younger sister core. the way she worries so much, feels overlooked, and acts like everything’s okay even when she’s struggling hit a little too close to home. the visuals reminded me of the darker aesthetic from D3, which i loved, and the humor from Hazel, the Smee twins, and all the VKs made the movie even more fun. there were so many little details that made me think the story had been planned out for a while, and i loved catching those connections without the movie feeling like it relied on nostalgia. this honestly matched the level of obsession i had with Zombies 4, which i didn’t think was possible. the plot was great, the music was amazing, the characters were easy to connect with, and by the end i was already wondering… are we getting a Descendants 6?? 👀 new top descendants ranks: 🥇D2 🥈D5 (this one) 🥉D3 4️⃣ D1 5️⃣ D4 (i love all though so it’s a tough decision)
