Incendies

This film is so bleak what the hell. But also, it needs to be this bleak, if it wasn't it wouldn't have worked nearly as well. I'm ever so slightly annoyed that I got the plot twist before you were supposed to but it's fine, that just means the story was told well. This is one of those films that, while it's shot beautifully, I just didn't think about how it was shot for a second. I was so massively immersed in the story and performances and the world that I just forgot about everything else.
