CGI robs this of all its action movie power and its flat streaming cinematography. Still, I’d take 9 more of these. Perfect use of Mark.

Hyper kinetic digital cinema paired with lowbrow dadcore. I think if you open the can, you’re going to eat it. Stood and saluted when the stupid plot revealed itself.

Actually an interesting glimpse into Massachusetts culture even if it’s the documentary equivalent of that clip of the guy playing the American Fotoplayer on Huell Howser. I think there’s some AI but there’s certainly some other dubious aesthetic choices. I think they just didn’t have enough footage of the park to tell the story, so I get it. Using old movies was effective enough.

As I kind of suspected, it’s actually more enjoyable as a movie than a story. King’s prose is great and believe me the structure (hell, the plot) is very confusing, but watching dancing is always going to beat reading about dancing and the silly third act is carried by having distracted conversations about how various actors have aged. I’m also just way, way too cynical for what King’s lobbing down the plate even if Flanagan avoids goosing the sentimentality too much.
