Shoplifters
Honestly, I have not seen many movies that delve into the emotional bonds with families. But, by far, this is the best and most emotional one I've seen. I can fully understand why this movie won the Palm D'Or at Cannes. Most family movies often are created through blood or adoption. However, I found this movie with random strangers coming together wildly refreshing. In many ways, I found the ending to be quite heartbreaking, but in other ways I think it shares a positive message. Especially with Eastern cultures, where as I understand it, family blood and elders are quite prevalent, but this movie seems to break that tradition that blood automatically makes you a parent or that people must be related in order to be connected.
