Hey it's me, Sam Brown. Whether you know me from hanging out in LA or being a washed up sketch comedian all critics can agree Sam Brown is a tour de force.

If you want entertaining fight scenes this is the movie for you. It obviously blends fight choreography with dance choreography but the way these sequences work with the story is pure movie magic. A number of crafts coming together to tell a story.

OK, so granted this is one of those movies that I’m going to have to sit with for while to really fully digest but I for sure had a lot of fun. Here’s some thoughts: I thought that when I saw Weapons and Alex’s mom walked to Ms. Gandy’s car, that would for sure be the funniest walk in a movie this year, but then Sean Penn was “hold my beer”. I’ve seen people talk about all the sort global/historical themes (racism, revolution) but what I was surprised by is how at its core this movie is about parenting. It’s like PTA directed an episode of Bluey. I’m being super critical here; there were great moments in Johnny Greenwood’s score… but also there were points where it kind of sucked. Maybe that’s just me. Also the main big score moments sound a lot like pyramid song. Just saying. I probably shouldn’t be annoyed by someone sounding like themself but here we are. It is crazy the feeling you get from the lack of coverage. It’s interesting because even though this reality is different from our own, you don’t really think about it because you’re never really focused on it. The half star off is because I didn’t love the needle drop at the end, but maybe I’ll come around.

I should give this one star. My friend Zach made this movie and he didn’t even put me in it. Who ever heard of Julia Garner anyway? Can’t you see it, me being all like “just stay and have a drink with me officer Alden Ehrinreich” I would have crushed it. But I guess I have to support, 5 stars.

They say “cyber space” like 8 times.
