Parasite
Bong Joon-Ho’s 2019 suspense thriller and Best Picture Winner Parasite tackles the story of three families as they embark on a violent journey of self-discovery, familial collapse, and, most profoundly, class discrimination. Watching Parasite for the first time is a uniquely memorable experience, especially if you were lucky enough to see it on the big screen. This film is a master craft in tension, dark humor, and unforgettable twists, with an outstanding societal critique. The critique is that there is always someone lurking in the shadows, doing the dirt work, allowing you to live life in blissful ignorance. From beginning to end, Parasite is a perfect film, my favorite foreign language film, and one of the best movies of the century. Parasite made me feel every emotion— from happiness and disgust to fear and sadness, which made for a very unique and special experience. 5/5.
