Ex Machina
I love Alex Garland.
A chilling, edge-of-your-seat thriller with basically one location (albeit elaborate and expensive) and mostly just conversation. A thriller does its job if in Act 3 (preferably the rest of the movie too) the audience can't help but think "Oh shit. OH SHIT! OH SHIT!!!!" until the movie ends. This movie accomplishes that goal.
Nathan is the best character I've ever seen Oscar Isaac play. Each of the three speaking actors shines incredibly brightly.
One major takeaway from the story is, yet again, as is the case with nearly every AI movie, STOP DEVELOPING AI! DON'T TRUST THEM! DESTROY THE SERVERS! BURN IT AAAAALLLL!!!! (and rightfully so)
