Great great acting, absolute cinema. it's too traumatising in a relatable, natural way, not just in a cinematic way. And this movie captures exactly how talking to a guy feels. The way that she hears footsteps, the way she feels the madness... it perfectly mirrors Taylor's lyrics from Hits Different: "I heard your key turn in the door down the hallway Is that your key in the door? Is it okay? Is it you? Or have they come to take me away? To take me away." * *But the absolute peak is when she completely turns the tables in the end, weaponizing the very insanity he trapped her in: "Because I’m mad, I hate you. Because I’m mad, I have betrayed you. And because I’m mad, I’m rejoicing in my heart, without a shred of pity, without a shred of regret, watching you go with glory in my heart."
