I felt this film to my core. Genuinely, wtf. I did not expect to cry so much. Chris finally opening up to gordie in the woods just fuckin broke me. He wants to be more and not fulfill these expectations of him being just one of the chambers. I totally get him. It was heartbreaking. The moment gordie breaks down to chris when they found the body just completely devastated me. “Why did he have to die”, he questioned it so many times shows that denny was the only person who made him feel like he mattered. Well, you can see that during the lunch or dinner scene. He felt so lonely and invisible. The walk back into the Castle Rock, no dramatic goodbyes just a simple “see ya”. Its just a fuckin shame that chris died like that but at least he died with pride. The credits rolled with Stand By Me playing just fuckin hits me. This movie was devastating and brilliant. I just sat in silence for a few minutes. Rob Reiner is amazing.
