Poor Things
This film is absolutely incredible, and not only do I think this film is one of the best of the decade, but it might genuinely be in the conversation for one of the best of the century so far.
The best part about this masterpiece is the cinematography and the camera work. This is essentially the modern version of Barry Lyndon, in terms of how it’s shot. Every frame looks like a literal painting, just like Barry Lyndon.
The director clearly took huge inspiration from some of Kubrick’s films, such as A Clockwork Orange, Barry Lyndon (As mentioned), and 2001 A Space Odyssey. Everything from the colors, to the lighting, and camera movement is perfect.
Emma Stone’s performance is also amazing in this film, it might actually be her best. It’s either this or La La Land. Regardless, she did a great job!
