Happyend
wow. just wow. i don't know if i have anything worthwhile to say but this film manages to say so much on an often quiet small scale (if that makes sense?) that it just feels real and honest.
stunning cinematography in a near-future japan, a friend group that makes me ache because it's loving, less-privileged teenagers searching and fighting for meaning and their place in this slightly more fucked-up world (than the one we're already living in lmao).
false earthquakes and real earthquakes and a dreamy soundtrack and this very real and heart-breaking childhood friendship between two people who just don't quite fit together anymore.
there are many scenes and images from this movie that will stick with me for a long time.
