Enter the Void
The movie feels more like an experience vs an actual movie. But in this case it worked for me and offered one of the most unique/artistic portrayals of near death experiences, death itself, and the psychedelic effect of being on various drugs. The camera work went fucking crazy too and I was a huge fan of the overhead view it maintained through a majority of the film.
I don't know if I ENJOYED the movie in the same sense that I would normally enjoy any other movie. This movie feels long but something about it kept me drawn and I found myself being entranced by the movie, even during its most traumatic sequences.
One day this will deserve a rewatch, except I should watch it not sober the second time.
Hot take probably, but im giving this a 5/5 because I haven't seen a movie before that has given me this type of viewing experience before, despite watching a few other of Gaspar Noe's films to begin with.
