The Fall

“Why are you making everyone die?” “Because... everything dies.” “You should ask someone else. There's no happy ending with me.” Genuinely, one of the best movies I’ve seen. The fantasy elements, the emotions, the characters, Lee’s pace eyeliner. Alexandria was such a cute character, but the costumes, holy shit!! I love this way more than I realized. I genuinely am in such a soft state of mind because I got so emotional. I have a hard time with themes of suicide since it’s something that is relatively close to home. But when he asked for a full body of morphine, I knew exactly the direction this was heading into… it’s genuinely so sad. Fantasy can really be a tool to help us escape from our depressive state, maybe to help us have more hope and control in a new world.  This reminds me of The Little Prince so much, the idea of storytelling in the perspective of an adult with using more realistic themes, more harsher tones, while a child would be willing to have more creativity, and less realism to it. You see how Alexandria and Roy’s storytelling blur with each other and the differences in their perspectives…  God, I’m genuinely so content that I’ve watched this. A truly beautiful masterpiece for a fantasy story. God, I don’t know if I really liked how Roy was kinda manipulating Alexandria to get medicine to overdose, but I guess when you’re depressed, you do stupid things. The fact he visited her, I can’t, I love these two, the relationship they have, it’s so sweet.  Roy is messy, depressed, and angry. When you lose someone you love, you only blame yourself and the reasons why it didn’t work out. He’s broken, he realizes how his manipulation affected Alexandria. “There’s no happy ending with me.” I can’t :((, I’m in tears, my heart, I just feel so bad for him. He’s paralyzed and his girlfriend left him for another man. Telling the guy who stole Roy girl that Roy should get over it omfg 😭😭, IMAGINE LOVING SOMEONE, BECOME PARALYZED AND THEM LEAVING YOU, That’s the biggest heart break. “He’s a drug addict, a coward” omg this genuinely is breaking my heart, he views himself as a horrible broken person 😭😭😭😭, I CANT FUCKING STAND THIS PAIN, IT ALL HURTS TOO MUCH.  “I don’t want you to die” “Don’t kill him” “Let him live” All the characters in Roy story were people in his life, I thought that was so interesting and a nice touch.  A little girl, full of hope and future, who suffered a severe injury, wanting to give more hope to a suicidal heart broken man 😭😭😭. He’s so careful with Alexandria, it’s so cute, but just all so painful. OMG Alexandria NOT GIVING A RAT ASS ABOUT ROY GF 😭😭  “We’re a strange pair, aren’t we?”  “All things must die.”  I can’t get over the setup, the wardrobe in this. It’s left me feeling inspired, probably shouldn’t be up this late since I have an early morning class, but I wanted to finish this movie to maybe gain inspiration for my art class.
