No adrenaline rush like telling your QB and WR1 that they’ve gotta play both sides in the playoffs. I also wish the Powdy team could’ve run double option.

Before I get into it, Brad Pitt literally tore his Achilles filming the opening scene. That’s maybe the most ironic thing to possibly happen on a film set. Eric Bana gives the best performance in this also. Ok now let me entertain this train of thought. It’s 2002/2003 area in an alternate timeline where Wolfgang Petersen gets his Batman vs Superman film green lit starring Christian Bale and, screw it it’s an alternate timeline, Brendan Fraser. That means that Petersen doesn’t boot Christopher Nolan off of Troy, but also doesn’t slide him on to Batman Begins. I’ll come back to this. Instead of the self-serious slog that Petersen made, we get a legitimate epic. Nolan respects the source material and includes the mythological aspects in his Greek Myth film (a wild thought I guess). We see these characters interacting with the Gods and the years of the Trojan War aren’t shortened to a quick week long scuffle. In summary, we get a great movie (hopefully like the Odyssey ends up being). As a result, Nolan never makes the Dark Knight Trilogy. Petersen’s Versus movie flops because he can’t direct, pushing DC’s heroes back on the shelf for a little while longer. Does this prevent the MCU? Probably not. I hope not. But it does hold off the Academy from expanding Best Picture to 10 films, delays Nolan’s connection with Cillian Murphy, Bale, etc. We probably see Nolan’s Odyssey 20 years earlier, but without his A+ list aura he actually has to use CGI. For me, I stumble onto Nolan’s Greek Mythology Trilogy (an Hercules spinoff?) instead of the Batman trilogy as my entrance to Nolan. As a Percy Jackson enjoyer, I become obsessed and dedicate my life to archaeology on the Mediterranean rather than cardio farming and watching mid 2000s studio blockbuster FLOPS.

Melodramatic. I fell asleep

Genuinely a perfect film
