Andy Weir did it again, and honestly, he might have even topped The Martian with this one. If you love sci-fi where the main character literally has to "science the shit" out of a world-ending problem, this is peak fiction. The premise hooks you immediately: a guy wakes up with amnesia on a spaceship, and he slowly has to figure out who he is and how to save humanity. The pacing is absolutely relentless. It’s nerdy, it’s thrilling, and the hard science elements are written in a way that makes you feel like a genius just for reading it. But beyond the space physics, the absolute heart of this book is the dynamic between the protagonist and... well, someone he meets along the way. No spoilers, but that bond is one of the most heartwarming, beautifully written friendships in modern sci-fi history. Aaaaaand I cried. Yes, a hard sci-fi book made me emotional. It is a masterclass in solo survival storytelling. An absolute page-turner from start to finish.

Honestly, this is such a massive upgrade from the first one! The fan service is real! And we need to talk about Adeline Rudolph as Kitana because wow, she absolutely stole the show. Every time she’s on screen, you just can’t look away. Saking banyaknya karakter baru yang mau dikenalin, alur ceritanya di beberapa bagian berasa agak buru-buru, so some character developments felt a bit rushed. But honestly? Who cares about deep plot when you get to see Kitana kicking ass like that?
