tell women’s stories. feel flat because the actual drivers of the story are most if not all the women and we don’t get real time with them. Odysseus is basically and vacation bible school camp with them, so annoying when you think about it. but yes oh ah 70 mm imax. not being a hater because i was really trying to be in my “omg this is so cool bag” the entire time. i was just left with a big fat question mark at the end of both my screenings. like is that it? the reason this criticism was hard to pull out is because we are conditioned to believe this is a story about one man and so saying there wasn’t enough women still feels off. what if instead this story centered penelope, athena, circe, calypso, and helen and their interaction with this evolving man, hell maybe even their own lives. it’s still about him but also not really. like it was kinda weird f boring actually of you really think about it. like what’s his character development? his inability to except a changing world and he was responsible for changing…. kinda boring lol. everything happened and nothing happened in this very very long movie. i should have just turned my brain off and watched this in 4D. maybe i would have had more fun. i will say telemachus story line was good. tom holland also was good. also i needed subtitles, i couldn’t hear half of the dialogue. but yeah im so excited i watch this in imax, im so lucky to have watched it as nolan intended!!
