Avengers: Endgame
random rewatch but i felt the need to say something about Avengers: Endgame.
as an avid movie watcher or sigh a cinephile, Avengers: Endgame can be a really tough watch especially if you are a conscious snob for good film dialogue.
but that's the thing about superhero movies. just turn your brain off or replace the metaphorical memory card of your brain and insert your inner superhero movie enjoyer mode instead.
Avengers: Endgame is one of those films where it feels like it's a one of a kind experience and i'm glad we got to see this in theaters when it was released and it's still unforgettable. This phase of the MCU is now in the history books of movie watching for its carefully crafted world-building and on how it changed movie franchises for the new generations to come.
while I think Avengers: Infinity War is the best Avengers film for me, Avengers: Endgame will live on as having one of cinema's greatest payoffs ever backed by amazing spectacle.
let's face it. clamoring for the MCU to be back will *-*never- happen again. it took a whole decade for Avengers: Endgame to be witnessed by fans and audiences alike and i hate how disjointed most MCU projects were after this. so no, the MCU is not back and it won't happen at least for now. it was all done right after this. i think the appropriate term that we should be coining is:
*The MCU is born again. or The MCU will be born again. *
hence why, RDJ is back with a different character for Avengers: Doomsday (even though i'm not that much of a fan of the casting overtime and this was Marvel's approach to bring audiences back), in which i hope that they don't fuck up and i swear to fucking god, stay any trace of Iron Man out of it as it will tarnish his heroic sacrifice.
overall, Avengers: Endgame is still amazing. superhero movies or blockbuster films in general are also a huge part of my film-watching arsenal. movies like these were my opening to confess my love for cinema when i was a kid and it also helped me dive more into movies through the actors that i loved watching or the director behind it and just like the quantum realm, woosh off i go to the cinema rabbit hole.
there is nothing wrong with watching superhero movies, they're a different breed and it's enjoyable. so if ever a film snob mocks you for it, just say the words:
shut the fuck up and let me watch and enjoy something that is not required to use the full capacity of my brain and just have a good time.
(except if it's REALLY bad and looked like obvious digital slop)
bad superhero movies are inevitable.
and i will still anticipate the next entry of any paricular franchise.
