Chungking Express

I absolutely love Wong Kar Wai’s use of color and shots as a whole. Everything is so picturesque and I caught myself pausing the movie multiple times to admire the shots. I also loved that the action scenes in the first story felt like watercolors. It was a very nice and artistic touch.  Officer 663 found himself an acts-of-service manic pixie dream girl, and it really did heal him.  I think I actually liked this better than In The Mood for Love.  I’m glad to have finally watched this (on May 1st) and can definitely see myself rewatching and showing this to others.
