1 star for the car chase scenes, they weee very cool 1 star for lockjaw’s gay little walk and being rage baited by a 16 year old girl who said his shirt was tight “I’m not a homosexual” This may be my favourite DiCaprio performance (I’m a known hater) Miss Chase Infiniti is a stand out

I came into this movie expecting to hate it, and was pleasantly surprised by how genuinely invested I was. The racing scenes are beautiful, and the score does an excellent job at increasing the tension throughout the entire movie. Kerry condor was a standout, with the movie at its strongest when it focuses on her character’s struggles as a woman who is constantly questioned and having to prove herself in her field, on top of the inherent challenge of working in the racing industry. Which brings me to its weakest. Brad Pitt. I deliberately avoided this movie because of his casting (had it not been nominated for best picture I wouldn’t have watched it at all). His performance proved me right; someone else should have been cast. His performance lies flat when compared to those around him. While his character is meant to be chaotic, arrogant, and reckless; at no point does Pitt pull any of it off, rather just looking like an ass I think more should have been done with the female pit crew worker, or cut her out all together as nothing major is done with her character that Kate doesn’t do (and do better) Definitely a movie that could do with another round of cuts, there’s no reason a racing movie should be over 2 and a half hours long. But I am shocked to say I enjoyed this dad movie

Quiet and deep, this movie has so many hard hitting lines that are delivered in regular conversation with no pauses that they feel inconsequential. It’s beautiful. The steady cam does such a good job at making the viewer feel apart of the scene rather than just an observer. This invitation into the narrative makes it all the more impactful

This blew my wig off (iykwim) I actually really enjoyed this (I was worried the actually being an alien turn would sour it) I think it does a great job of emphasising how maniacal conspiracy theories sound to people who don’t buy in, while also making it clear that it’s a way for these characters to cope (There’s a conversation to be had about the similarities between conspiracies and religion, but I don’t know society is ready) My unhinged question, is it only hair on your head, or did they have to shave *everywhere *
