Mysterious Skin

it was genuinely hard for me to watch. how two boys deal with the same trauma in completly different way was so heartbreaking. one remember every little detail, the other's brain protects him by creating "alien" story. this movie made me cry. A LOT. there were scenes i had to skip cuz it was just too much and knowing that things like this really happen in rl makes it even worse. how many children go thru things like this and grow up carrying it alone. no adult protected them. no one noticed in time. it shows how vulnerable they really are and how careful we should be with who we trust. i feel like there's no "right" way to survive something like that. it's uncomfortable and triggering tbh, but im glad i watched it
