Conclave
Maybe recency bias, but I think this is easily a top-10 drama of all time for me, and easy top-5 movie of the year. Such powerful, beautiful imagery, with such incredible cinematography and acting. The message of this movie is so clear, and despite some people's critique of the twist ending, I suspect I will look back on it fondly in the future. The parallels to the American two-party system, of which I have previously written essays on the dysfunction of, are unmatched by any other wannabe-deep movie of recent times. As a former member of the Catholic Church, I would have enjoyed this movie even then.
