My heart skipped a beat when Menaleus mentioned Patroclus and Achilles. I wanted to like this film so much, but I'm just not sure I do. While the full IMAX format was a bit of a double-edged sword, it was still a fresh and fun watching experience—1 plus star for that.

Hi! So, this is my fourth time watching this film, and I just want to say that i really love this and that you shouldn't be focusing on who the real villain is because it's so obvious. Bear isn't the villain just because he wished to the willow for Nikki to love him, cause how in the world would he think that was going to work? He is a coward yes, but that doesn't make him the villain. Instead, it's the way he actively chooses to ignore the fact that her bodily autonomy has been completely stripped away, that is when Bear becomes the villain. I'm so fed up with the discourse on my local Twitter saying that the director intentionally used Bear's POV to side with him. When we watch the film, we can clearly see that Bear is portrayed as the jerk after he tastes control over Nikki's body. I think that's how Curry wants to bring out the horror in the film, by showing how this "Nice Guy" can turn into real evil once he gets a taste of power.

> "You are you, Nikki" > "What would be so bad? What's so bad about being with me?" The denial?!?!?!?!?!? He knew that it wasn't her all along but he insisted on stripping away her autonomy, even after she begged him to kill her. Like, I genuinely hate Bear's guts. I love this film so so so so so much, I may be exaggerating a little bit, but i really do. This is indeed a love story, but not romance.

Just rewatched it, and now I'm pissed that I missed the first 28 minutes. Actually, I am more upset than pissed. Cause, the fact that Nikki had asked Bear about his feelings toward her before Bear snapped the willow, and when she asked him, she had this look on her face like she wished that Bear would tell her the truth, like she yearned for the real answer. That look was also etched on her face when she returned to the car and asked Bear about the thing that he had for her after Bear snapped the willow, both looks were the same. So, none of it would have even happened if Bear didn't act like a coward. His cowardice led to Nikki's suffering, and even after he died, he left a big mess for Nikki. That 28-minute scene adds a lot to my perspective. Now, I can sympathize with Nikki's character more. Fuck you, Bear. You're cute, but fuck you. I still didn't find it 'that' scary to be honest, but it's less funny now. It's tough knowing that Nikki, or even Bear, could have had a better ending. Actually, everyone could have had a better ending if it wasn't for Bear's cowardice. Again, fuck you, Bear. Not me reposting my review over and over again just so I can keep rewatching that clip. And I can tell.
