I think Ryan Coogler did the best he could to honor Bosemans legacy while allowing the story of Wakanda to move forward. One of the best acted MCU films too and it’s hard to watch without getting glassy eyed.

That said, there’s something about the action scenes in both black panther movies that falls flat for me, and after turning Kilmonger into one of the best MCU villains, Namor kinda falls flat.
Beautifully shot and directed. One of the best MCU soundtracks. Wanda stans rise up.

This is one of the most fun MCU films when watched in a vacuum, but this script sets the Multiversal saga up for failure and decimates the character arcs set up throughout the previous projects.

It’s still one of my faves to rewatch though and one of the only films that I think is even better in 3D which is something I usually hate.
IT’S CRAZY HOW UNDDERRATED THIS MOVIE IS! I think if it came out in phase 1 or 2 it would be considered a fan favorite, but 2021 wasn’t a good time for anyone, especially a brand new hero in a solo story.
Nothing will touch the movie theater experience of this story. That said, every rewatch feels really empty without roaring crowds and the exciting reveals. I still think this movie does something really cool with Peter’s arch, it’s the heart of the film and what still makes this one of my personal faves.
I really liked Eternals and am devastated we won’t be getting a sequel. That said, this movie tried to do wayyy too much for it to be able to succeed. This should’ve been two movies: the first set in the past showing how the eternals helped humanity defeat the deviants, ending with them splitting up, and the second following the modern story.

I think this would’ve given a lot of the characters the time they needed to connect with the audience and then we would really feel the betrayals and losses in the second movie. Even things like druid feeling like a villain, and then getting a surprise reveal that he’s just living peacefully would hit that much harder.

I also think if these characters got two films, the teams, Ark would feel more complete and free a lot of the characters to do their own thing or join other teams in the MCU.
They should’ve absolutely come out before endgame. Yes there are other faults with this movie, like the villain feeling just bland. But seeing Natasha reconcile with her family, even knowing that she’s lost them going into endgame, would’ve meant so much. It also feels like one of those super important post civil war stories, like the sovia accord era of the MCU should’ve been longer. Seeing heroes who have been celebrated have to operate from the shadows is such an interesting idea.
The fall off from Ragnarok to this is insane. I know Fiege was committed to giving the creatives more control over their projects, but it’s crazy that this slip through quality control. I have nothing else to say, I know Thor was already on a trajectory towards just becoming a joke, but this took that idea way too far.
