Eraserhead
Normally when I write my reviews I put a cocky little “well that was” statement before everything.
But how the fuck do you do that to a David lynch movie.
Eraserhead is a masterpiece. A deeply weird, conflicting, horrible and beautiful masterpiece.
It’s so insane to my that David Lynch can have these absurdist scripts with NO sense behind them, and these actors sell them like there’s nothing else that could possibly be true. The wife’s character especially had me feeling that way. Her random hysteria, absolutely real. Also I loved her dad. Funny guy.
Obviously if I’m talking about eraserhead I have to talk about the baby, and if I’m talking about the baby I’m gonna burst into tears. I love him. So very much. If someone could get me in contact with someone who could make me a cuddle sized plushie of him I would sell my soul to own such a thing. I feel so horrific for that little baby…….. I just wanna kiss that little nose and watch as he takes his first steps. His parents don’t deserve him.
Something insane about this movie is that it actually has a scene where it shows you why it’s called eraserhead. But WITHIN that scene,,, as someone going through the most massive lifelong bill and Ted phase, seeing Ted’s dad was an absolute shock and I kept going “that’d be funny if that was… they probably just look alike” and then immediately googling it and screaming really loud.
Anyway in conclusion I just love the baby. I could be a good parent to that baby.
