From Beyond

Well that isn’t like the original story. Going into this one as a huge reanimator fan, and someone who’d read the original short story a couple of times, I was SO SO SO hyped. This lived up to every expectation I had. and more, because what the fuck. Every HP lovecraft story is just “hey this thing I saw is really fucked up idk how to even describe it.” Well this movie DESCRIBES IT. YOU SEE A LOT OF THINGS HAPPENING ALL THE TIME AND OH MY GOD. From beyond is BATSHIT INSANE. Like seriously. I don’t even know how to describe it. It’s an 80’s MASTERPIECE. With gore and fucked up body horror that honestly is more chronenbergian than anything he’s ever done LMAO. I loved it. I also, obviously, loved Crawford. He was adorable and didn’t deserve any of this. AND SPEAKING OF PEOPLE WHO DIDNT DESERVE SNY OF THIS THEY DID MY DUDE BUBBA D I R T Y. I loved him. I also loved the reanimator meets killer clowns type colour pallete we got going on. Very cute. Also good for Barbara crampton for inventing lesbians because I’m sure she did here. She also deserved an Oscar for this shit like holy hell. There isn’t a single bad performance in this movie, and her and Jeffery both STAND O U T oh my god.
