At no point in this movie did I have any clue what the fuck was going to happen. I LOVED IT.
I went In only really knowing the visual of the cat on the movie poster (which, spoiler, doesn’t even show up), and I’d been wanting to watch it for a long long time, so I finally got the chance to, and it is just brilliant. Is it objectively good in any sense of the word? Absolutely not. Am I losing my mind that a man turns into bananas? Yes. Brilliant, brilliant movie. Also there is a musical number sung by a cat. The whole thing feels like a demented cross between Jim henson’s really early work and like,,, studio ghibli?. I did like the characters a lot though.
