Fargo
"There's more to life than a little money, you know”
I really loved this, Fargo pulled me in almost immediately. The snowy landscapes and quiet towns felt close to home, making the atmosphere hit even more personally. It’s incredibly immersive, using stillness and silence to build tension even when nothing obvious is happening. The characters are what ground the film in a world that feels strange but completely real: Jerry, a truly pathetic character, makes frantic, ill-advised choices that are both tense and darkly funny; the bumbling criminals add chaotic humour; and Marge calm, brilliantly smart, and quirky navigates all the chaos. The film’s dry, deadpan humour lands perfectly throughout, giving the story a sharp, understated wit. The kind of movie that never gets old
