Bigender, He/They/She. MLM Leftist. Film Student. I love all things media. I am very meticulous in watching everything and recording everything. Furthermore, I watch a lot of films, I love them so much. I was always really into cinema, but it wasn't until 2024 and after graduating high-school that it started to shape my life to what it is. Furthermore, I am attending a film school program now. I watch dozens of films every week. I was very different with how I loved film, I never thought that I would become one to love such artsy films. But I love these films so incredibly so. Introspective and meditative films gravitate me most. There are so many films and so little time to watch them, so I use my time watching them, reading them, analyzing them, inspiring my own films I want to make. I live in Canada, and I am a Marxist-Leninist-Maoist Communist. My goals are to make films the way I want to, to never cower my beliefs for my art. For art is political and means something, I hate it when people and especially other artists say it isn't political. It is, it tells genuine stories, genuine moods, genuine themes, ideas that can be scary. Art is meant to enthrall you, be it entertainment, introspection, impart a feeling, or whatever it is that the artist intends. I want my art to give a lasting impact on the viewer and to tell how I really feel, especially about the political climate of the world. But also to make films that are vivid and leave the viewer thinking, about what they watched or what has happened. My favourite filmmakers include, Hayao Miyazaki, Andrei Tarkovsky, Masaki Kobayashi, Akira Kurosawa, Ingmar Bergman, Michael Haneke, Wong Kar-wai, Tsai Ming-liang, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Nuri Bilge Ceylan, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Bi Gan, Edward Yang, David Lynch, Kenji Mizoguchi, Don Hertzfeldt, Park Chan-wook among many others. I love directors and my primary film watching habit is to watch the complete filmography of a director. I feel they appeal to me because although some are technically amazing they all really understand the human element of filmmaking and don't get lost in the glitz and glamour. But after cinema I love music and literature. I love so many artists. Music is very important to me and my life, it shapes so much about themes and life and entertainment. I could not imagine life without music, even more than literature and film. I have a diverse love of music, rock music, metal music, EDM music, Orchestral Music, so many types across so many decades across all walks of life. Roy Orbison, The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Celine Dion, Daft Punk, Joe Hisaishi, Kaya, Judas Priest, Acid Bath, Death, Anaal Nathrakh, Yoshiki and XJapan, Enya, Pink Floyd, pearl Jam, Nirvana, Rod Stewart, Rush, Whitney Houston, Dolly Parton, Chopin, Anne Murray, Josh Groban, Radiohead, Led Zeppelin, America, The Eagles, Debussy, Lady Gaga, Stone Temple Pilots, Talking Heads, Jeff Buckley, the GaZette, Warning, Watain, Slayer, Opeth, Glenn Yarbrough, Bob Dylan, LOVEBITES, Tool, Allfather, Krisiun, Iron maiden, Her Name In Blood, Emperor, GoatW, Hekseblad, Melvins, Fear Factory, Tatsuro Yamashita, Sukima Switch, SPYAIR, Nujabes, Mariya Takeuchi, Frank Sinatra, Velvet Eden, Clan of Xymox, The Birthday Massacre, emmuree, GPkism, just about everyone involved in the JVM Roses Blood Symphony, Hikaru Utada, Masayoshi Takanaka, Lily Chou-Chou (iykyk). That only scratches the surface. I think my music library is like 20,000 songs. Not even getting into my love for musicals. I mentioned I love literature and I do. My goal is to read more this year, something I hope to do more in the latter half of the year. My favourite writers of literature include Fyodor Dostoevsky, Albert Camus, Franz Kafka and I enjoy an odd novel or 2 by other writers occasionally. I also want to get into poetry so if you have recommendations? 4 memorable film experiences for me are Princess Mononoke, that is the film that largely made me be the person I am today. Harakiri is the film that made me want to be a filmmaker. An Elephant Sitting Still (plus It's Such A Beautiful Day) made me discover things about me, I didn't know were in me. Resurrection by Bi Gan was my favourite film experience. I was overwhelmed by emotion but also seeing it with people who loved film the way I did in our local independent theatre was moving for me. I love cinema and I watch everything. 2026 is the year I really take it seriously, and I plan on watching as many good movies between my director filmography watch throughs as well as clearing. What I can of the popular Letterboxd lists like the top 500. "Cinema is important to me. It's like a prism. A good film is part of my life. With every good film I see, I feel reborn. It feels as if I made it myself, as if it were my creation." "Talking about dreams is like talking about movies, since the cinema uses the language of dreams; years can pass in a second and you can hop from one place to another. It's a language made of image. And in the real cinema, every object and every light means something, as in a dream." — Federico Fellini
