Still holds up! I’m kidding I just saw it for the second time, obviously I had to. It’s really fun seeing something that’s not out of a franchise. I hope they leave it a one off. I really admire what they did here. Somehow they nailed the film just in the right spot of being a crowd pleasing fun movie, and being an overall good story. You know I love a story about a reluctant hero Again, never trusted Germans!

SHOT ON FILM YES I liked it. Did not anticipate this storyline, but I actually tried to avoid any information about this movie because I wanted to see it raw This one makes you think. Am I a bad person because I was going to do something bad? Am I a good person because I didn’t do it? Or am I still a bad person for thinking about it? As the movie says, everyone did something really bad once. You can’t just hang out in the world and not screw up. It’s part of being human. We need to make mistakes. But what does it take to get to a situation where you idolize the idea of hurting others? And what does that mean about a 15-year-old? The scary thing is we all thought about it once. We all wanted to hurt someone, whether it’s verbal or physical. Yes most of it is powered by anger which leads to action, but this is mainly when we are kids. As an adult, you need to be strong enough to hold yourself from hurting other people. You need to act by the rules of society. What’s the difference between planning and executing a mass shooting, And just planning it? Of course, actualizing this plan is committing a crime, but that’s a long way to get there. The best thing here is the fact that Charlie was British and not American so he wasn’t so connected to the subject of school shootings. All in all - my eyes were glued to the screen. I really like the chemistry between Emma and Charlie. The dialogue was good, a bit corny sometimes, but still it felt like a real relationship. My brother noted that there wasn’t a catharsis at the end, but I don’t know if I wanted there to be one. I think they were just fine without it. But I have to say, this wasn’t a life-changing movie like the Internet is saying. But still it was good. Go original stories!! (P.S. maybe it’s just me but living in my country kinda made me numb to acts of violence outside my country. Of course I’m still a sympathizing, but my country is a mess bro)

Every time I watch this movie it gets better. It’s so well written, every detail is thought upon. One thing that I find very realistic is the dialogue and relationships between the characters. Especially the arguments, whether it’s between the main couple, or between characters in high-pressure situations. Everything feels so human, so driven from survival, needs, future planning or self preservation. It explores how different types of people handle extreme conditions. The cinematography in this film is IMPECCABLE And after you notice the color grading and the general way they treat colors in relation to that story - it’s really hard to miss the intentions the creators want you to understand. Also, I really like the fact that it’s a one off. Every continuation to that story would be kind of stretching it, especially after the creators set a really specific tone and way of storytelling. Definitely going to watch it again in a few months.
