There’s something about leather face swinging his chainsaw around with a stunning, orange sun rising in the background which really does it for me. There’s something about this whole film, so much charm. It’s essentially ‘the horror’. Took me so long to get round to watching it, even committed the crime of watching a remake first - which was decent but nothing in comparison. One of my favourite jump scares ever has to be LF appearing out of nowhere and brutally sawing through wheel chair dude. Beautiful stuff. Easily one of horrors greatest villains, so much aura - until his dad enters the room changing the vibe a bit. And on the favourites topic, Sally is right up there for final girls. She isn’t too stupid considering it’s a 1974 horror, and ultimately (after the second legendary window smash) makes it out alive which I honestly wasn’t expecting. Shoutout to fat black dude who helped. And very stand out screaming! The length it goes (also considering it’s 50+ years old) is very admirable. Kind of perfect horror, so damn close to 5. Could change in the coming days
