i like movies about movies but they pulled away from the movie part too much towards the climax and all that before bringing it back at the very very end

saw it in regular imax. at face value its maybe a 4 star film, pretty much everything you expect. Things look set to be in some kinda more ancient european times kinda looks like how you thought the story goes in high school. think the best casting was zendaya as athena. tom holland needs go be a stay at home husband he was not at the level of everyone else and straight up looked like he didnt belong. while that can fly when hes acting young and whatever but at the end its just not enough. Robert was great, damon was pretty good too but didnt add enough mythical hero sauce. maybe its because it was intended for him to be more human and geounded. The scenes with the flames were lit well and looked great. I dont remember enough to be able to say that odysseus saying all that stuff to penelope while pretending to be a beggar was accurate, but it was a great delivery of it spliced with flashbacks.  just maybe not what the original story felt like but its been a while. Really though its 3.5 stars for everything put into it, it was not more than what i thought itd be while reading it in hs. i wouldve expected odysseus’s fit to look better/ stand out more. agamemnon really mogged him lol. There was definitely some stuff missing too maybe it was filmed and got cut for the runtime idk. Think the money most showed out with the extras/ the people but adding scale is not the same as adding sauce.  i remember when there were rumors or maybe someone was just saying whatever that it might be a adaption involving a helicopter, that wouldve been cool.

nice funny film. intro shots of him having to bike through sf was touching. he was not such an unbearable loser like bear in obsession which made this watchable minus the middle age dude somewhere in the theater that was snoring. Angela gave me like second hand anxiety or something she was wild. that other relationship kinda predatory though i wonder what happened in those appointments, kinda thought of the sopranos a little. As an aside, vibing to sade with a loved one seems like a very blissful experience i have not yet had
