Anora
While I had strong reactions to this one in the moments after viewing it, this film really grew on me the more I reflected on it. So many beautiful shots, the acting was superb, and I thought the story— while not very believable in my mind— left me with so much to think about, which I always appreciate in a film. The final scenes of this movie, which intentionally leave so much room for interpretation, may frustrate some (it did for me at first), and then ask you to pay deeper, more curious attention (which I loved). Also, Anora is truly the powerful one in this film for believing things could be different in a way Ivan could never imagine from his place of clouded, controlled privilege.
