Cure
A psychological masterpiece. Cure confides an espionage thriller where a detective, Takabe tries to solved the chained mystery of a hypnotist psychopath, Mamiya. But everything went indescribably dark as the logical becomes questionable and reality is scythed open an insanity that carved betwen reality and illusion affecting Takabe's life, and the only way to end that nightmare is to confronting the devil itself, even if that means to be one with it. Both Koji Yakusho and Masato Hagiwara deliver performances of incinerating spectacle throughout liminal cinematography. Very unsettling from the beginning and ambiguously scarring in the end, brutal, but deafeningly calm and beautifully crude.
