Rear Window
LISA
CAROL
FREMONT
I had my doubts about Hitchcock, I watched Vertigo and Psycho and while they were good movies, I felt they were overrated and didn’t live up to the hype. (I was spoiled for Psycho so that played into it). Holy the cinematography was top tier, the set they shot it on was nothing less than impeccable. For a movie that came out in the 50s to look like this????? Mindblowing. Hitchcock is truly a genius, we don’t leave Jeffries apartment for basically the entire film, what he sees, we see, and what he doesn’t, we don’t either. I found myself questioning everything, I thought there would be a plot twist, or a dark turn, or neither and the killer wasn’t a killer at all. Some thoughts I had were: Lisa would get killed (thank god that didn’t happen), or that the DT was working with the killer. Hitchcock goes the simple route and that’s the best route he could’ve taken.
I wanna talk about Lisa for a moment, she is the most elegant, confident, sexiest, bravest, sweetest, smartest, charming, courageous, boldest, loyal, and captivating character I’ve ever had the pleasure of watching. She’s the swaggiest female character EVER. No competition. Truly, no exaggeration, an unforgettable character and an unforgettable performance by Grace Kelly, no wonder she married a fucking prince.
Oh yeah I damn near cried when she jumped into the window I thought it wraps omg
