Nosferatu
"come to me
come to me"
My body literally ascended from the beginning. Using jump scare at the beginning is simply genius.
One of the most faithful adaptations I've ever seen. I truly love gothic atmosphere, storms, lurking in shadows and unexplained.
Movie might not consist of letters but covers the plot properly. Love that tiny village side quest with Van Helsing (rarely in those movies, yet he is in book). Rainfeld was truly as described, eating pigeon head scene goes hard. Hardings were nice addition, not only richer contrast to Ellen and Thomas but different views to world as well.
Thomas was mearly a victim, Ellen was main character here. Not gonna lie, at first acting was a bit swallow. But the scenes with sleepwalking and possession changed everything. Love that jumps when you cannot tell if it's a dream or real life.
Sure I've heard great deal of rats, but did not expect THIS. Bringing them on the ship along with Orlok was outstanding. The hand over the town scene is everything, almost biblical and spiritual. Obviously I know how it would end, yet trip to coffin was different.
May Willem Dafoe play any type of mad scientist for long time, I beg. Obviously scene with rats is awesome, but the line with newton is just cool as hell. I don't say he needs spin-off or some shit. Just put him as a mad man in everything we can.
The way Count Orlok slept naked but wore whole atire just to lurk is inspiring. It's not just costumes and prosthetics (yet those deserve awards as well) but accent, posture and being an evil being refreshed image of him. The fur coat, hat and two wolves is really a diva move.
This movie truly changed my brain. A masterpiece
Side note: Mr eggers bring me "pied Piper" if you can
