The Matrix

Fun Fact: I’ve been on this earth for 20 years and I have never been to a movie theatre. My mother, in her 40+ years, has only ever been once and the movie she saw was...The Matrix. I’m not gonna lie, not even 3 minutes in I started laughing. 😂 The stunts had me dying, those gravity-defying moves and the slow-mo “bullet time", shit😭 holy fucking Peak the action scenes. I know in 1999 this was peak CGI, and honestly, for its time, i guess it's the shit. It’s wild watching this for the first time but basically seeing a two-hour compilation of every meme reference I’ve ever known. The red pill/blue pill, the "I know Kung Fu" bars, I’ve seen my fair share, "the dude in the red dress"meme, but finally seeing the context was top-tier. The way they laid out the prophecy of "The One" was actually incredible. Seeing Neo go from a regular dude to the savior had a brudda hooked, Ohh and theres a Matrix reference in John Wick when Laurence Fishburne's character The Bowery King met John Wick he said "As I live and breathe!", the soundtrack pure 90s cyber-grunge perfection, shit sounded like a revolution, where can i get me that long leather coat and them tiny sunglasses.
