Perfect Blue

American Psycho x Fight Club x Smile Great movie and great twist. My only complaint is that the later portion of the movie kind of watches like a bunch of separate scenes, and is pretty disjointed. Now, this is probably intentional, and I think that the jump cuts from scene to scene really sell the illusion. But, it’s also kinda just like whatever, the actual cinema aspect (I mean the cinematography and plot) is really impressive. Would like to rewatch this alone and see if it’s any better the second time. Summary: A girl decided to move past her pop star career and use her fame to launch an acting career. She has a stalker that writes and threatens her. All while, she is tormented by an apparition of her former self, whom disapproves of her promiscuous acting decisions (nude photo shoot, rape scene in movie) the movie is full of unexpected twists which lead the viewer to second guess what’s real and what’s imagined.
